Accounting Manager, Prime Financing

Join Coinbase as an Accounting Manager for Prime Financing, leading the accounting function for our brokerage business. • •Own the review and approval of monthly financing accounting entries, reconciliations, and supporting documentation to ensure accuracy and completeness through each close cycle.
• •Build scalable, automated financial processes and controls for the prime financing function, including drafting standard operating procedures that reduce manual effort and support SOX compliance.
• •Lead your team through the monthly financial close, quarterly reporting, and annual audit processes, ensuring deadlines are met and deliverables are audit-ready.
• •Partner with cross-functional teams to provide accounting insights on SEC regulations and lending practices, translating regulatory developments into actionable accounting guidance.
• •Drive the design and implementation of new controls and processes for platform and brokerage accounting activities, identifying gaps and recommending improvements that keep pace with business growth.

• •Base salary varies by location (see range below). Total compensation may also include equity and bonus eligibility, and benefits (medical, dental, vision, 401(k)).
• •Annual base salary range (excluding equity and bonus): $166,345 — $195,700 USD.

• •CPA designation with 9+ years of progressive accounting experience, including a mix of Big 4 public accounting and industry roles in fintech or financial services.
• •Direct experience with financing, lending, or prime brokerage accounting at a publicly traded company, including familiarity with SEC reporting requirements.
• •Proven track record of building accounting processes and internal controls from the ground up, including designing SOPs and implementing automation that reduced close timelines or error rates.
• •Experience managing or leading a team through monthly close cycles and quarterly/annual reporting, with demonstrated ability to meet tight regulatory deadlines.
• •Working proficiency in NetSuite, FloQast, and Google Suite, with the ability to leverage these tools to streamline close and reporting workflows.
• •Utilizes generative AI responsibly, maintaining human oversight to deliver business-ready outputs and drive measurable improvements in workflow efficiency, cost, and quality.
