What you'll do
- •Daily Audio Operations
- •Operate digital audio consoles and processors (e.g., Midas, A&H, Waves, Fourier Audio) to ensure clear, high-quality sound.
- •Manage microphones (e.g., Dynamic, Shotgun, Contact), DI signals, and other input sources.
- •Maintain loudness standards and ensure proper level alignment.
- •Studio Collaboration & Setup
- •Work closely with AV and lighting departments to design and implement new studio setups.
- •Provide acoustics expertise for optimal studio layout and sound treatment.
- •Configure and optimize audio systems to match production and broadcast needs.
- •Adjust basic video parameters such as color temperature, polarization filters, and lighting alignment for consistent on-camera presentation.
- •Technical Maintenance & Troubleshooting
- •Monitor audio equipment for potential issues and quickly implement alternative solutions to minimize downtime.
- •Diagnose and repair technical faults on equipment and systems.
- •Assemble, disassemble, test, troubleshoot, and repair computers/hardware used in audio and broadcast workflows.
- •Conduct soldering work and component replacement on printed circuit boards, following specifications.
- •Systems & Software
- •Install and configure operating systems (Windows, Linux) on audio workstations and other broadcast-related hardware.
- •Set up peripheral devices and drivers such as monitors, scanners, and expansion boards.
- •Ensure proper integration and function of audio-over-IP systems (SoundGrid, Dante), external processing servers, and relevant plugins.
- •Broadcast & Control Room Knowledge
- •Understand the core workflows of a television control room and how audio integrates with video/production operations.
- •Occasionally operate or assist with video cameras, particularly when audio and video tasks overlap.
- •Maintain broadcast standards for loudness, clarity, and overall production quality.
- •Travel & Remote Studio Setup
- •Travel to new studio locations abroad to manage audio system installations and configurations.
- •Ensure studios are designed with proper acoustic treatments and system reliability.
- •Continuous Improvement
- •Stay updated on emerging technologies and best practices in broadcast audio engineering.
- •Demonstrate eagerness to learn new technical skills and adapt to evolving production demands.
