Brokerage Accounting Manager (Japan Securities Entity)

Alpaca is seeking a Brokerage Accounting Manager to oversee accounting activities for its Japan entity. The role involves securities accounting, regulatory capital management, and collaboration with global finance teams. Competitive salary and remote work options available. • •Manage accounting operations for a regulated securities business
• •Perform accounting for securities transactions and customer assets
• •Calculate, monitor, and validate the Capital Adequacy Ratio (CAR)
• •Support the development of capital plans and capital strategies aligned with business growth objectives
• •Partner with management and global teams on capital management and regulatory capital optimization
• •Prepare and submit regulatory reports and filings to the Financial Services Agency (FSA), Japan Securities Dealers Association (JSDA), and other regulatory bodies
• •Support accounting and finance activities related to regulatory compliance requirements

• •Manage general accounting operations for the corporate entity
• •Perform monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close processes
• •Oversee payment operations, including invoice processing and employee expense reimbursements
• •Manage cash flow and treasury activities
• •Prepare financial statements and supporting accounting schedules

• •Support accounting system implementation and migration projects
• •Provide accounting and financial support for new product and service launches
• •Contribute to the improvement and standardization of accounting operations in collaboration with the global finance team

• •Hands-on accounting experience within a securities firm
• •Hands-on general accounting experience within a corporate environment
• •Experience managing monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes
• •Knowledge of financial accounting and management accounting principles
• •Knowledge of, or practical experience with, Capital Adequacy Ratio (CAR) calculations and regulatory capital requirements
• •Business-level proficiency in both Japanese and English
• •Strong analytical, quantitative, and problem-solving skills
• •Proven ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and stakeholders
