Overview

Join Chainalysis as a Content Writer to produce insightful reports on cryptocurrency, collaborating with experts to translate complex topics into clear narratives for various audiences. Chainalysis' content team produces the reports that shape how the world understands cryptocurrency. Working alongside our in-house subject matter experts and investigators, our writers translate on-chain activity into clear, actionable insights for regulators, law enforcement and intelligence agencies, compliance teams, and journalists. We cover global policy, DeFi, sanctions enforcement, mixing services, and more β€” but above all, we're storytellers making sense of a complex subject.

In this role, you’ll

  • β€’Write quick-turn blog posts that break down the news of the day.
  • β€’Collaborate with subject-matter experts to document criminal crypto activity.
  • β€’Contribute to our biannual flagship reports on crypto crime and the global on-chain economy.
  • β€’Develop long-term content ideas alongside our Research and Marketing teams.
  • β€’Investigate complex trends across DeFi and mainstream crypto adoption.
  • β€’Use Chainalysis' investigative tools to strengthen your storytelling.
  • β€’Own the accuracy of your work from sourcing to publication.

We’re looking for candidates who have

  • β€’3+ years of professional writing experience, ideally in a newsroom or comparable editorial environment.
  • β€’Demonstrated ability to explain complex financial, technical, or regulatory topics in plain language β€” without buzzwords.
  • β€’Working knowledge of the crypto industry, including how blockchains, exchanges, DeFi protocols and stablecoins function in practice.
  • β€’Experience adapting tone and voice for distinct audiences (e.g., policymakers, compliance professionals, general readers).
  • β€’A bachelor's degree in a writing-intensive field (journalism, English, communications, etc.) or equivalent professional experience.

Nice to have experience

  • β€’Comfort navigating a block explorer.
  • β€’Experience writing SQL or similar queries.
  • β€’Experience growing an audience on social media for a brand or publication.
