Overview
Rocket Tech School is seeking a Head of Academic Product to develop a cohesive academic product system for children aged 5-17, focusing on progress tracking, learning analytics, and AI integration. Rocket Tech School is an online school for digital skills for children aged 5-17. We teach programming, AI, digital creativity, mathematics, Roblox, Scratch, Python, Unity, and other subjects. The school is growing: we are developing a STEM/AI line, integrating new educational products, entering B2B/B2G, and aiming to build an international-level education system.
Responsibilities
- •Build a student progress system:
- •Design how we understand and measure a child's progress:
- •hard skills and meta skills;
- •levels of mastery;
- •project assessment criteria;
- •rubrics for educators;
- •format of progress reports for parents;
- •logic for transitioning between levels and courses.
- •Develop educational analytics:
- •Work with learning data:
- •attendance;
- •task completion;
- •project submissions;
- •test results;
- •project quality;
- •feedback from parents and educators;
- •retention, refunds, NPS/CSAT;
- •points of dropout and loss of motivation.
- •Restructure the product line:
- •Help consolidate various courses into a unified STEM/AI system:
- •identify core courses;
- •understand their interconnections;
- •identify duplicates;
- •determine missing levels;
- •clarify results promised to parents;
- •decide which products to develop, combine, or discontinue.
- •Work with the platform and AI:
- •Develop digital learning experiences: progress tracking, personal accounts, reports for parents, self-study, AI assistants, auto-checking simple tasks, AI analysis of feedback.
- •Formulate requirements for the platform and AI features based on educational outcomes.
- •Manage the academic team:
- •Oversee methodologists, subject experts, and educators regarding quality standards:
- •set course development standards;
- •help the team think in terms of trajectories rather than lessons;
- •participate in hiring and developing methodologists;
- •calibrate assessment criteria;
- •reduce dependence on individual strong performers.
Conditions
- •Format: Remote. Full-time. The team is distributed, and students live in different countries.
- •Salary: $2000-3000.
Requirements
- •Experience managing educational products at a scale of several thousand students;
- •Understanding of learning outcomes, skill maps, assessment, progression, rubric-based evaluation;
- •Experience with educational analytics and product-educational metrics;
- •Ability to link learning quality with retention, LTV, refunds, NPS/CSAT;
- •Experience working with platforms / LMS / personal accounts / simulators;
- •Interest in AI in education;
- •Experience managing methodologists, educators, experts, or instructional designers;
- •Ability to work in uncertainty and build systems from scratch.
Preferred Qualifications
- •Experience in children's EdTech;
- •Experience in STEM / AI / programming / digital creativity;
- •Experience with project-based learning;
- •Experience building progress tracking / value added / goal achievement;
- •Experience with international educational products;
- •Experience with accreditations or international standards: IB, Cambridge, Edexcel, PISA, CEFR, Cognia, Education Alliance Finland.
