Description
What you'll do
- β’Pull and reconcile transaction data from on-chain wallets across multiple networks (e.g., Ethereum, Solana, Bitcoin) using block explorers, RPC endpoints, and crypto sub-ledger tools.
- β’Reconcile CEX accounts (Coinbase, Kraken, Binance, etc.) β pulling API exports, normalizing trade and transfer activity, and tying balances to the general ledger.
- β’Classify on-chain activity (transfers, swaps, staking, gas, fees, rewards) and ensure transactions are categorized consistently for accounting purposes.
- β’Build and maintain basic financial statements β income statement, balance sheet, and cash flow β with crypto holdings, gains/losses, and fiat activity properly represented.
- β’Support month-end close: journal entries, reconciliations, and supporting schedules.
- β’Help prepare audit workpapers, PBC (prepared-by-client) requests, and walkthroughs for our external auditors.
- β’Partner with the CFO on ad hoc analysis, treasury reporting, and process documentation.
Conditions
- β’Work shoulder-to-shoulder with the CFO on a foundational moment for the company.
- β’Real ownership and visibility from day one.
- β’Fully remote, with a team that takes both crypto and accounting rigor seriously.
Requirements
- β’0β2 years of accounting, audit, or finance experience (Big 4 / regional firm experience a plus, but not required).
- β’Bachelorβs degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- β’CPA track is a plus.
- β’Working knowledge of GAAP and the mechanics of building financial statements from a trial balance.
- β’Real, demonstrable crypto fluency: you can read a block explorer, follow a transaction across wallets and contracts, and explain what a swap, bridge, or staking reward actually is on-chain.
- β’Comfort with CEX account exports and APIs, and the patience to reconcile messy data.
- β’Strong Excel/Google Sheets skills; bonus points for SQL, Python, or experience with crypto sub-ledgers (e.g., Cryptio, Bitwave, Integral, TRES).
- β’Detail-oriented, organized, and comfortable working independently in a remote, async environment.
- β’Nice to have: Prior exposure to crypto audits or experience supporting a financial statement audit.
- β’Familiarity with DeFi protocols, staking, or validator economics.
- β’Experience with multi-entity or multi-currency accounting.
