Responsibilities

  • Lead the Environment Art department: task setting, reviews, mentoring, employee development
  • Plan content production for locations
  • Control quality and timelines in the pipeline
  • Produce 3D models of props from concept to final geometry, preparing for texturing (high/low poly, UV, baking)
  • Develop and maintain modular systems
  • Formulate and uphold the visual style of environments
  • Develop and document the art pipeline
  • Collaborate closely with Concept Art, Tech Art, and Level Art to synchronize needs and solutions
  • Participate in hiring and onboarding new team members
  • R&D approaches to content production for open world: optimize pipeline, accelerate iterations

Requirements

  • Experience as an Environment/Props Artist
  • Team management experience of at least 2 years
  • Strong portfolio with relevant works in environments and props
  • Proficient in Maya, 3ds Max, Blender, ZBrush, Substance 3D, Marmoset
  • Deep understanding of high/low poly workflow, UV mapping, baking
  • Experience with kit systems
  • Experience working in Unreal Engine 5
  • Strong artistic foundation: composition, form, silhouette
  • Experience in task planning, working with timelines and content budgets
