WATT Studio seeks a Lead Environment & Lighting Artist to lead the visual design of the game 'Tsarevna'.
WATT Studio is looking for an experienced Lead Environment & Lighting Artist to spearhead the visual design of the game 'Tsarevna'.
We seek an expert capable of not only creating aesthetic locations but also forming a global strategy for lighting and environment.
## What you'll do
- •Organize the creation of locations and lighting setup.
- •Configure expressive, atmospheric lighting considering artistic and narrative tasks.
- •Formulate lighting compositions and visual accents.
- •Work with Lumen and baked lighting based on project technical solutions.
- •Create and refine high-quality 3D environments.
- •Design scenes considering composition, light, color, and materials for a cohesive visual style.
- •Work with set dressing, navigation, and narrative elements of the environment.
- •Optimize lighting, assets, and scenes for real-time performance (PBR, LOD, Nanite/Lumen).
- •Support level artists with lighting and environment issues.
- •Develop and maintain lighting and environment guidelines.
- •Participate in reviews and team communication on visual and technical requirements.
- •Engage in level art tasks if necessary.
- •Daily reporting and adherence to internal deadlines.
- •Work in Unreal Engine.
## Conditions
- •Experience with procedural tools is a plus.
- •Participation in developing visual guidelines and pipelines is a plus.
- •Experience with post-processing and color correction is a plus.
Requirements
- •Experience as a Lighting Artist and/or Environment Artist in gaming or related projects.
- •Portfolio with examples of lighting and environment work (mandatory).
- •Proficient in Unreal Engine (lighting, Lumen, Lightmass, environment work).
- •Understanding of composition, color, contrast, and visual storytelling.
- •Practical experience in creating and assembling environments (modular assets, materials, set dressing).
- •Experience optimizing scenes (lighting and geometry) for real-time.
- •Understanding of technical limitations of game engines.
- •Ability to work in a team and communicate with artists and technical specialists.
- •Responsibility, independence, and adherence to deadlines.
