Overview
Apliteni is seeking a Legal&Regulatory Counsel to independently handle legal judgments and compliance within the company, ensuring adherence to EU regulations and directives. We're hiring the owner of legal judgement for Apliteni - the person whose call is final on "what the law requires and whether the company's action is legally permissible." This is a role with real authority: you develop the company's legal positions and carry them yourself.
What you'll do
- •Final decision on legal correctness — whether an action, document, or scenario is compliant.
- •Handle LEA requests independently from receipt to response.
- •Manage regulator correspondence without intermediate sign-off.
- •Determine whether a given law applies to Apliteni.
- •Conduct final KYC/AML conclusions.
- •Make final decisions on sanctions screening.
- •Own knowledge of how regulators apply the law and advise the team.
