Description

What you'll do

  • Design levels from concept to whitebox in the engine.
  • Set up level logic: triggers, enemy spawners, interactive objects.
  • Write documentation (Beatchart and LDD) and hand over levels to environment artists, ensuring close collaboration with the art department.
  • Iteratively improve levels based on playtest results and team feedback.

Conditions

  • Experience with Flow Graph.
  • Experience with level art and understanding how the location will look.
  • Experience with Level Sequencer.
  • Modeling skills in Maya/Blender/UE Modeling Tool.

Requirements

  • 2+ years of experience in game development (PC/Consoles).
  • Portfolio with builds of assembled levels or recordings of their playthroughs with accompanying documentation, diagrams, and references.
  • Knowledge of Unreal Engine and its tools.
  • Ability to assemble blocking and whitebox levels.
  • Skill in writing blueprints for prototyping combat arenas or platforming.
  • Understanding of composition and scaling basics, navigation, flow, and cycles.
  • Work with metrics and telemetry.
  • Ability to build environment storytelling at the level design stage.
  • Skill in working with World Partition.
  • Placement of reading points for subsequent lighting work: where the player should see the enemy/object/marker, etc.
  • Arrangement of transitions to mask loading and lighting changes: turns, vestibules, airlocks, elevators.
