Overview

Join Bitso as a Platform Engineer focused on Incident Management, where you'll manage the full incident lifecycle and drive automation to enhance platform reliability in the crypto space.

Working At Bitso

We are a diverse team that takes pride in understanding the perspectives of others. We fully embrace working remotely and we are eager to act, improve and accelerate progress inside and outside of our organization. To drive revolutionary changes in society and make crypto useful, we delight our customers with world-class products, deep care, and intentional empathy.

Who We Are

With over 9 million users, Bitso is the leading cryptocurrency platform in Latin America. We are developing the cryptocurrency ecosystem in the region and enabling financial inclusion. We believe crypto is the future of finance, and we’re committed to making it useful by providing equal access to safe and intuitive financial products.

What You Will Do

  • β€’Own and execute on-call shifts end-to-end: acknowledge pages within SLA, declare incidents, assign roles, maintain comms cadence, and drive to resolution
  • β€’Lead incident postmortems for Sev1 and Sev2 events β€” schedule them, facilitate them, and ensure action items have owners and due dates
  • β€’Identify patterns across incidents and propose systemic fixes: runbook improvements, alerting tuning, platform hardening, and process changes
  • β€’Build and extend internal automation and tooling, including AI-assisted incident response workflows, to reduce manual toil and accelerate detection and resolution
  • β€’Contribute to and improve the observability ecosystem β€” dashboards, alert configurations, and early-warning signals across Bitso’s platform
  • β€’Participate in change and maintenance management processes, applying risk criteria to reduce deployment-related incidents
  • β€’Collaborate with engineering squads across the company to surface platform risks and drive preventive action before incidents occur
  • β€’Keep incident tooling, runbooks, and severity criteria accurate, current, and useful for the broader engineering org

Compensation & Benefits

  • β€’Me Time program, including unlimited paid time off.
  • β€’Remote-first work environment.
  • β€’Employee Stock Option program.
  • β€’Zero trading fees through our Bitso Alpha app.
  • β€’Extended Family Leave Policy: all birthing parents, non-birthing parents and adopting parents are eligible for a 4-months leave.
  • β€’Premium health, dental and life insurances in Mexico, Gibraltar, Colombia, USA, Brazil and Argentina.

Who You Are

  • β€’Proven ability to operate confidently in high-pressure incident scenarios, including communicating clearly with senior stakeholders and leadership while a production issue is live
  • β€’Hands-on experience with Kubernetes β€” comfortable deploying, debugging, and navigating pod-level issues
  • β€’Solid understanding of CI/CD pipelines and modern DevOps practices
  • β€’Software development background in any language; ability to read, write, and debug code is essential (Python or Java experience is a plus)
  • β€’Strong automation mindset: you identify repetitive toil and your first instinct is to eliminate it, not absorb it
  • β€’Experience building or working with AI agents or LLM-based workflows is highly desirable β€” it’s where we’re investing now
  • β€’Strong interpersonal and written communication skills
  • β€’Self-directed learner who doesn’t need a fully defined path to start contributing
  • β€’Fintech or crypto industry background is a plus β€” familiarity with the domain vocabulary accelerates onboarding and incident triage
