Overview
Game Art Pioneers is looking for a Procedural Texture Artist / Material Artist to create procedural textures and materials for Unreal Engine 5. Full-time, hybrid work model.
Responsibilities
- •Create procedural textures and materials for Unreal Engine 5
- •Develop tileable textures, trim sheets, decals, blend materials for open world
- •Create and configure materials in Unreal Engine 5, design a convenient and extensible library
- •Develop procedural smart materials in Substance 3D Designer for use by the entire art team
- •Create complex shaders: layered materials, vertex paint, world-aligned, parallax, distance-based blending, weather/wetness systems
- •Support the visual style of the project and uniform surface quality
- •Optimize materials
- •Collaborate closely with Environment Artists
- •R&D new approaches to procedural texturing and shading

Requirements
- •Experience as a Texture / Material Artist for 2+ years
- •Strong portfolio with procedural materials and AAA-level shaders
- •Expert knowledge of Substance 3D Designer
- •Deep knowledge of Material Editor in Unreal Engine 5: master materials, instances, functions, parameter collections
- •Experience creating layered / blend materials for open world
- •Strong artistic foundation: understanding of materials, textures
- •Experience working with photo references
Nice to Have
- •Experience working on large titles or high-end projects
- •Experience with realistic and highly detailed stylization
- •Experience with Houdini for texture generation
- •Experience with Virtual Textures, Nanite, Lumen
- •Experience with photogrammetry
- •Ability to read and write shaders
- •Experience with Perforce and large teams (50+ people)
- •Technical English
