Waymo is seeking a Senior Machine Learning Engineer to lead ML model development for safety-critical driving behaviors, enhancing the performance and safety of their self-driving system. Waymo's Systems Engineering team works together to blend software and hardware systems in groundbreaking new ways. We set the high performance standards that ensure our vehicles run smoothly and keep passengers safe, then design and perform the tests that validate that performance. What you'll do
- •Lead ML model development end-to-end for safety critical driving behaviors to evaluate and enhance the performance, safety and scalability of our self driving system
- •Design experiments and assess results to make clear data-driven decisions
- •Find new ways to gather the required data needed to improve our models and improve data quality
- •Communicate benefits and limitations of new models and metrics to partner teams
- •Integrate and deploy metrics and models on fleet-wide data
- •Be able to operate on both tactical and strategic timescales
