Software Engineering Intern (Winter)

Join Datadog as a Software Engineering Intern to work on impactful projects in observability and security. Interns contribute to engineering challenges across various domains while working alongside experienced engineers and mentors.

• •Contribute to production systems that process and analyze large-scale observability and application data in real time
• •Build and improve distributed systems across backend infrastructure, developer platforms, and cloud-native services
• •Help identify and solve performance, reliability, and scalability challenges in critical services supporting Datadog’s growing customer base
• •Own and deliver technical projects from design through deployment with support from experienced engineers and mentors
• •Develop technical expertise through hands-on experience with technologies such as Kubernetes, distributed systems, and cloud-native infrastructure
• •Collaborate with fellow interns, mentors, and engineers while building software that delivers impact at global scale

• •Work on meaningful technical challenges alongside engineers across the globe
• •Participate in mentorship and buddy programs designed to support learning and development
• •Join an in-person intern cohort and expand your network through engineering talks, social events, and community engagement opportunities throughout your internship

• •Pursuing a degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related technical field, or have equivalent practical experience
• •Targeting a 2028 full-time start date
• •Demonstrate strong computer science fundamentals, including data structures, algorithms, and software design
• •Comfortable coding in one or more programming languages and excited to use AI-assisted tools to enhance software development and problem solving
• •Have experience using AI coding tools or a strong interest in learning how to use them effectively, while exploring how AI can improve engineering practices and products
• •Available to work full-time from the Datadog New York or Boston office during the internship program dates: January 4 - April 23, 2027
