What You'll get to do
- β’Provide hands-on development across front-end (React) and back-end (Java) components.
- β’Lead code reviews and ensure adherence to engineering standards.
- β’Establish best practices for:
- β’Clean code and maintainability;
- β’Testing strategy (unit, integration, E2E);
- β’CI/CD pipelines;
- β’Observability and monitoring;
- β’Security and performance optimisation.
- β’Ensure scalability, reliability, and long-term technical sustainability of a high-throughput, event-driven platform.
- β’Reduce technical debt through structured improvement initiatives.
- β’Line-manage two Full Stack Engineers initially.
- β’Partner closely with the Delivery Manager to ensure predictable and high-quality delivery.
- β’Mentor engineers.
- β’Create a culture of ownership, accountability and engineering excellence.
- β’Lead recruitment efforts to grow the team through 2026 and beyond.
- β’Support onboarding and integration of new team members.
- β’Own and continuously improve the full SDLC (Requirements refinement, Technical design, Development, Testing, Deployment, Production support).
- β’Champion DevOps principles and automation.
- β’Ensure robust release processes and environment management.
- β’Maintain high standards of documentation and knowledge sharing.
- β’Collaborate with Product, Delivery, QA, and other stakeholders.
- β’Translate business requirements into scalable technical solutions - including campaign automation, player segmentation, real-time triggers, and personalised engagement flows.
- β’Contribute to roadmap planning and technical strategy.
- β’Balance short-term delivery needs with long-term architecture goals.
- β’Provide technical risk assessment and mitigation strategies.

What weβre looking for
- β’Strong experience as a Full Stack Engineer, with proven architectural responsibility.
- β’Deep understanding of modern front-end frameworks, including React;
- β’Backend development in Java (Spring Boot preferred);
- β’RESTful APIs and event-driven / microservices architecture;
- β’Relational and analytical databases (e.g. PostgreSQL, ClickHouse or similar).
- β’Experience with CI/CD pipelines;
- β’Containerisation (Docker, Kubernetes preferred);
- β’Version control systems (Git).
- β’Strong knowledge of design patterns;
- β’Secure coding practices;
- β’Performance optimisation.
- β’Experience leading or mentoring engineers.
- β’Strong people management skills.
- β’Comfortable giving constructive feedback and conducting performance reviews.
- β’Strong communicator across technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- β’Ability to balance hands-on contribution with strategic leadership.
- β’Proven experience recruiting and building teams.
- β’Strong English communication skills.
