Key Responsibilities
- β’Monitor and analyze developments related to AI infrastructure, data centers, energy policy, semiconductor policy, export controls, and national AI strategies.
- β’Develop policy positions on sovereign AI, compute access, digital sovereignty, and AI competitiveness.
- β’Support engagement with governments developing AI infrastructure investment programs and national AI initiatives.
- β’Collaborate with commercial, product, and corporate development teams on strategic opportunities involving public-private partnerships.
- β’Represent Cohere in policy discussions related to AI infrastructure, energy requirements, and technology competitiveness.
- β’Produce policy analysis and thought leadership on AI infrastructure and sovereign AI trends.
Compensation
Cohere is committed to fair and transparent pay practices. The salary range listed for this role reflects the expected base compensation. Actual compensation offered will be determined by factors such as location, level, job-related knowledge, skills, education, and experience.

- β’For candidates in New York, California, Washington States, the Compensation Range is : $190,000 β $230,000 [USD]
- β’For Candidates in rest of the states, the Compensation Range is : $150,000 β $180,000 [USD]
- β’Canada
- β’$215,000 - $260,000 [CAD]

Qualifications
- β’5β7 years of experience in public policy, technology policy, trade policy, energy policy, national security policy, or related fields.
- β’Strong understanding of geopolitical technology issues, AI infrastructure, export controls, or digital sovereignty.
- β’Ability to assess emerging policy developments and identify strategic business implications.
- β’Excellent analytical and stakeholder engagement skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- β’Experience working on semiconductors, cloud infrastructure, energy policy, telecommunications, or national competitiveness issues.
- β’Familiarity with government AI investment programs and international technology policy.
