Responsibilities
Audit and refine the organizational hierarchy of the live scouting department (e.g., Regional Coordinators, Quality Assurance Managers, Senior Loggers, In-Stadium vs. Video Taggers). Evaluate current live data logging processes (latency, data entry accuracy, communication protocols) and design workflows that minimize data transmission lag. Establish business continuity plans for technical failures, stream dropouts, or stadium access issues during live match operations. Define the exact roadmap for where to find high-quality data loggers, defining specific protocols for using primary channels and alternative talent pools. Standardize the assessment and vetting process. Design specialized benchmarking tests (e.g., video-based coordination tests, speedtyping, and football/sports IQ evaluations) to filter out low-performing candidates before onboarding. Build a playbook for mass-hiring initiatives required  ahead of major tournament cycles or season kick-offs. Develop an objective, data-driven framework to evaluate scout performance. Metrics must include: Accuracy Rate (% of correctly tagged events against master review), Latency/Speed (average seconds between live event and system log), and Completeness (% of required metadata captured). Establish secondary-review structures where QA teams systematically audit live matches to grade data integrity. Design a "Scout Tiering" system (e.g., Junior, Core, Senior, Master) where performance directly dictates promotion and access to  premium/high-profile matches. Design a competitive, scalable compensation matrix tailored to geographic regions, match difficulty, and data requirements. Implement financial or tier-based bonus structures rewarding high accuracy, perfect attendance, low latency, and willingness to cover late-night or short-notice fixtures. Balance payroll expenses against data quality to optimize the department’s overall operational budget.
Requirements
Minimum of 7 - 10+ years of direct, hands-on experience. within a major sports data provider (e.g., tier-1 sports betting syndicates).
