What Youβll Do
- β’Support the Head of Policy in developing regulatory and legislative strategy on AI data center policy, including engagement across AI infrastructure, siting, energy procurement, and governance issues.
- β’Track, analyze, and forecast federal and state-level policy developments affecting AI infrastructure, including legislation, regulations, and incentive programs, with a primary focus on Texas and expanding coverage as Galaxy's data center footprint grows.
- β’Support development of Galaxy's positions on AI data centers and AI governance policy through research, drafting, and direct engagement with federal agencies, Congress, and relevant regulatory bodies.
- β’Build and maintain relationships with policymakers, regulators, industry coalitions, and key stakeholders, including state legislators, governors' offices, public utility commissions, and economic development agencies, to advance Galaxy's interests on AI policy.
- β’Monitor permitting processes, local utilities, and political and regulatory developments in target markets, and flag risks and opportunities for internal teams.
- β’Represent Galaxy in policy forums, trade associations, and industry roundtables as directed by the Head of Policy.
- β’Draft policy briefings, comment letters, testimony, and advocacy materials for government officials and senior internal leadership.
- β’Advise internal stakeholders and external partners on emerging AI policy developments and their business implications.
- β’Embrace and champion the thoughtful adoption of AI to improve team performance and business outcomes.
- β’Leverage AI tools (e.g., generative AI, automation platforms, data copilots) to improve productivity, decision-making, and output quality in your day-to-day work.

What Weβre Looking For
- β’4+ years of policy experience, with significant exposure to energy, technology, or infrastructure policy at the federal or state level.
- β’Experience in Congress, a federal or state regulatory agency, or a policy-focused role at a data center, or energy company strongly preferred.
- β’Deep familiarity with AI policy debates, including data center infrastructure, energy permitting, and AI governance frameworks.
- β’Proven ability to build policy functions or lead significant policy initiatives with limited infrastructure; a self-starter who thrives in ambiguity.
- β’Existing relationships with relevant policymakers, regulators, and industry stakeholders in the AI and technology space.
- β’Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to distill complex technical and policy topics for senior executives and government audiences.
- β’Comfortable operating across federal and state levels simultaneously, with the agility to track and respond to policy developments across multiple jurisdictions.
