What you'll do
- •Own the investment products portfolio: Serve as the primary legal advisor for Mercury Treasury and Mercury Invest.
- •Work across the company: Build relationships across product, compliance, risk, engineering, and operations.
- •Advise and support compliance: Work closely with Mercury's compliance team on regulatory matters.
- •Flex and grow: Contribute across Legal on other product areas.
- •Use AI intentionally: Bring a working knowledge of AI tools in legal workflows.
- •Be a storyteller: Translate dense regulatory concepts into straightforward narratives.
- •Stay curious and agile: Embrace new regulations and market shifts.
Total Rewards
- •Base salary, equity (stock options/RSUs), and benefits.
- •Competitive salary ranges based on location and experience:
- •US employees in major cities: $219,000 — $273,800 USD
- •US employees outside major cities: $197,100 — $246,400 USD
- •Canadian employees: $207,000 — $258,700 CAD
What you should have
- •6+ years of legal experience, with at least 2 years focused on non-deposit investment products.
- •Familiarity with relevant regulatory frameworks.
- •Some in-house experience is preferred.
- •Exceptional communication skills.
- •A proactive sense of ownership.
- •Strong working knowledge of AI use cases within legal roles.
- •Broader foundation in financial services, payments, or fintech.
