Senior Software Engineer, Backend (Consumer - Growth Foundations)

Join Coinbase as a Senior Backend Developer to build and scale core infrastructure for growth initiatives. Work in a remote-first environment focused on economic freedom and impactful engineering. Coinbase is a remote-first, but not remote-only company. Expect to get together quarterly for intense in-person working sessions called “surges.”

• •Own the design and delivery of scalable distributed backend services that handle high QPS, low latency, and high reliability requirements for growth infrastructure
• •Architect resilient service-oriented systems using modern cloud technologies, contributing across backend, data, and ML layers of the stack
• •Partner with engineers, designers, product managers, and senior leadership to translate product and technical vision into quarterly roadmaps
• •Lead investments in developer tooling, shared platform capabilities, and cross-team relationships that increase organizational velocity
• •Build high-quality, well-tested production code for systems that are secure, reliable, and maintainable at scale
• •Drive rapid experimentation by building and iterating on growth features that deliver measurable impact to user acquisition and retention

• •Target annual base salary: $191,100 CAD
• •Total compensation may also include equity and bonus eligibility and benefits (including medical, dental, and vision)
